PURPOSE: To provide a red and black two-color thermal recording material reduced in the color mixture of a developed red color by a low temp. color forming layer at the time of the development of a black color at high temp. CONSTITUTION: In a red and black two-color thermal recording material wherein a high temp. color forming layer developing a black color and a low temp. color forming layer developing a red color are successively laminated on a support and both color forming layers contain electron donating color forming dyes and electron acceptive coupling compds., di-p-chlorobenzyl oxalate and di-p-methylbenzyl oxalate are added to the high temp. color forming layer and/or the low temp. color forming layer.
