PURPOSE: To guide the laser beam irradiating position to the target welding position with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A transmission tube 14 is installed on the outlet side of the welding position to a torch 15a arranged opposite to the welding position, and a welding head 15 is installed on a frame 16 so as to be turnable in the horizontal direction therearound. A torch guide mechanism 21 is installed on the inlet side of the welding position through fixed guides 21a, 21c so that the torch 15a may be displaced in association with the displacement of a butt part. The torch guide mechanism 21 is provided with a movable base 21d to be guided by the second bed guide 21c so as to be movable only in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the line, a copying roller 21f which is pivotably supported by the movable base 21d so as to be rotatable in the line direction and which is engaged so as to be abutted on one end face to form the clearance of the butt part, and arm members 21g, 21j which are fitted so as to be movable in the line direction to the movable base 21d, and hold the torch 15a at the tip so as to be turnable in the horizontal direction. |
