PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in color forming sensitivity, good in matching properties and reduced the fading of an image caused by light, in a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye and a coupler is provided on a support, by adding hollow spherical calcite type calcium carbonate. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer containing a colorless or light-colored electron donating leuco dye and a coupler being an electron acceptive substance reacting with the leuco dye to develop a color is provided on a support, hollow spherical calcite type calcium carbonate is added in order to impart excellent color forming sensitivity and good matching properties and to reduce the fading of an image caused by light. This calcium carbonate is pref. used as at least a part of a filler and added to the intermediate layer provided between the support and the thermal color forming layer. The hollow spherical particles have a particle size of 2-20μm and can be used together with various fillers. |
