IMAGE ERASING METHOD AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE: To obtain an image erasing method capable of rapidly erasing a recorded character or image and a recording medium therefor. CONSTITUTION: In an image erasing method, the character/image data written in the optical modulation layer of a recording medium is erased by the heat generated by high frequency heating. The recording medium has the optical modulation layer 2 and a heating layer 3 and the heating layer 3 contains a material heated by high frequency. Since the data written in the optical modulation layer is erased by the heat generated by high frequency heating, the image data recorded on a plurality of recording media can be erased at the same time within slightly several sec in an extremely efficient manner.
