PURPOSE: To conduct a ultrasonic scan in the rotating direction while the front of an insertion section is set as the observation visual field by arranging a rotary shaft supporting an ultrasonic vibrator on the tip face of the insertion section in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the insertion section, and rotating the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION: A housing 31 is protruded forward from the tip section main body 10 of an insertion section. An ultrasonic vibrator 32 constituting an ultrasonic observation mechanism 30 in the housing 31 is supported by a rotating member 33, and the rotating member 33 is provided in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the insertion section and connected to a rotation transmitting means 38. When the ultrasonic vibrator 32 is moved by the rotation transmitting means 38, the ultrasonic observation of the prescribed plane in the front of the insertion section can be conducted. |
