ABSORPTIVE MOLDED OBJECT HAVING RIGIDITY AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To obtain a sheet like absorptive molded object having rigidity sufficient to support itself by using synthetic pulp and a composite fiber. CONSTITUTION: A thin plate-shaped absorbing material having absorptive property is constituted of a mixture consisting of 80-20wt.% of synthetic pulp and 20-80wt.% of a composite fiber and has a basis wt. of 300-2000g/m<2> and rigidity possible to support itself while holding a sheet shape. The synthetic pulp and the composite fiber are mixed and heat-treated at temp. equal to or higher than the m.p. of the synthetic pulp in such a state that the basis wt. of the composite fiber is held to 300-1000g/m<2> . The synthetic pulp and the composite fiber are blended in a dry state to be heat-treated at temp. equal to or higher than the m.p. of the synthetic pulp.
