PURPOSE: To provide a casting epoxy resin compsn. made excellent in electrical characteristics and flame retardancy and enhanced in the reliability to an environmental issue without using a halogen compd. and an antimony compd. CONSTITUTION: This casting epoxy resin compsn. contains an epoxy resin (A), a composite flame retardant (B) consisting of aluminum hydroxide (a) ammonium polyphosphate (b) and melamine (c), methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride being a curing agent (C) and a curing promoter (D) as essential components.
