PURPOSE: To obtain a herbicidal composition, capable of completely controlling many species of weeds with quick-acting properties by application at a time and sustaining the efficacies for a long period and hardly causing phytotoxicity by formulating an oxazolidinedione compound with a pyrimidinylurea compound preferably at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION: This herbicidal composition is obtained by combining 3N-(2- fluoro-4-chloro-5-cyclopentyloxyphenyl)-5-isopropylidene-1,3-oxazolidi ne-2,4-dione represented by formula I with 1-[[0-(cyclopropylcarbonyl)phenyl]sulfamoyl]-3-(4,6- dimethoxy-2-pyrimidinyl)urea. The compound represented by formula II is preferably formulated in an amount of 0.04-2 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. compound represented by formula I in the composition. The herbicidal composition is especially preferably applied to paddy fields and is capable of exhibiting remarkable synergistic effects. Annual weeds, perennial weeds and annual broad-leaf weeds can strongly be controlled by applying a mixture of the compound represented by formula I with the compound represented by formula II in a low dose of 10-300 g/10a. |
