PURPOSE: To achieve miniaturizing planning dispensing with a high capacity supply tube or a large capacity waste ink tank by arranging the holder of a waste ink cartridge at a fixed place other than a carriage to enable the replacement of the waste ink cartridge. CONSTITUTION: The waste ink cartridge holder 1-10 is arranged at a fixed place other than a carriage 1-4 moved accompanied by printing. A waste ink cartridge 11 recovers waste ink and, even when a printer is inclined, the ink does not simply leak to the outside. A waste ink cartridge 1-11 can be easily replaced by a user and two kinds of cartridges can be provided as a pair of sets and, since the capacity thereof can be reduced to that of an ink cartridge 1-6 or less, miniaturizing planning becomes possible. It becomes unnecessary to guide ink to a head by using a high capacity ink supply tube reduced in air permeability, good in bending properties and having length not obstructing the movement of the carriage. |
