PURPOSE: To obtain acrylonitrile by a method capable of markedly improving the cloggings in its recovery process while retaining the effect inherent in multi- tier quenching column. CONSTITUTION: In a method for producing acrylonitrile by ammoxidation process, a reaction gas is fed into a multicompartment quenching column made up of at least three compartments consisting of an ammonia removal and quenching section 2, a high-boiling compound removal and a quenching section 3 and a acrylonitrile recovery and quenching section 4, and high-boiling compounds concomitant with the reaction gas are separated and removed in the section 3, and the liquor drawn from the section 3 is fed to the section 2. |
