A mixture of at least one -keto acid or at least one of its salts, a reducing agent, a source of ammonium ions and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide in reduced or oxidised form is subjected to the action of an enzyme composition which is the product of culture of a single strain of Bacillus, and especially Bacillus megaterium ATCC 39118. Application in chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
