The electric reflector lamp has a light source (20) in an envelope (21) with a seal (22). The seal has a projection (23) against which a plate (25) rests with its side which faces the light source (20). The seal (22) is secured in the neck (5) of a reflector body (1) by means of cement (27) which is present at the side of the plate (25) which faces away from the light source (20). Thereby, an open passage (28) to the beam-shaping portion (4) of the reflector body (1) exists allowing volatile substances released by the cement (27) to escape when the reflector body (1) is closed by means of a cover (7).
