<p>An apparatus for producing fluid jet-bonded non-woven webs, comprising means (1) for making, compressing and feeding a fibrous web (2) into a processing area (3) where the moving web (2) is exposed to a number of banks of pressurised water jets alternately impinging on both sides of said web (2). The apparatus is characterised in that the interlacing means consist of at least one series of perforated cylinders (C1, C2, C3, C4) each of which is combined with a bank (R1, R2, R3, R4) spraying pressurised water jets onto the surface of said web (2), said banks (R1, R2, R3, R4) being staggered at the same intervals as the processing rollers, while the jets impinge perpendicularly on the surface of the processed material, and the peripheral velocity of the cylinders gradually increases from one processing area to the next.</p> |
