METHOD OF PREPARING FORMAT DATA FOR RECOGNIZING CHARACTER

To easily prepare format data for recognizing characters printed on a form and inputting them, the characters are taken in with a scanner and converted into image data, the positions of the character frames are extracted from the image data and displayed for selection, the image data are displayed, the positions of character frames which have been not extracted automatically are manually specified, the character attributes of the character frames are inputted, the positions and the character attributes are correlated with each other and stored, and the format data are generated from the positions and attributes.
