The toothpick comprises an oblong body with generally triangular cross-section, and tapering towards an upturned pointed tip. Pref. the toothpick underside has a lengthwise notch which makes it compressible transversely, and also has at least one upright transverse yieldable flap and an upstanding handle at the opposite end to the tip.
