Elementary particle detector

The detector for elementary particles has a screen of point anodes. As well as measuring pulses, the screen registers the precise penetration point of the particles with the X-Y co-ordinates. The detector has one plane of a polymer or other organic material with an electrical resistance of 10<8>-10<13> ohm/cm and a second plane with vertical needles. The planes are contained in a closed vessel containing gas under a given pressure, e.g. a mixt. of Ar + CO2.
