Starter relay for motor vehicle

The starter relay (10) is constructed with a ring coil (12), which surrounds a core (28) of magnetic material. The core can be axially moved inside the centre hole (23) of the coil to act upon a pinion device in the starter. At least part of the moving core projects axially outwards to the fixed coil. A seal (64) is inserted between the fixed ring coil and the cylindrical circumference face of the moving core. In one embodiment the seal clings to the coil and includes a ring-shaped sealing lip, which combines with the circumference face of the moving core.
