A silicone equilibration catalyst is the reaction product of a linear phosphonitrilic halide, such as a linear phosphonitrilic chloride, and a triorganosiloxy-terminated polydiorganosiloxan of formula R(R 1 ) 2 Si[OSi(R 1 ) 2 ] m OSi(R 1 ) 2 R where R is H or a C 1-18 organic group R 1 is a C 1-13 organic group M is 0 to 100. It is used for polycondensation and rearrangement of a variety of polydiorganosiloxanes, including low molecular weight siloxane oils.
