In an electric drill cooled by coolant supply pref. without coolant return, i.e. a core drilling machine with pressurised water supply, the device for feeding coolant into the coolant channel (24) of the drive shaft (19) is arranged in front of a motor (1) cooler which opt. operates with the supplied coolant and which has a coolant flow path (8) form an inlet (14) to an outlet (15). The flow path (8) roughly follows the wall contour of the motor housing (4) and the outlet (150 connects with the coolant supply connection (17) of the coolant feed device. Pref., the flow path is formed by (i) a ribbed (7), flat, groove-like recess (8) which follows a helical path around the motor housing (4); and (ii) a casing (9) which is mounted coolant-tightly on the motor housing (4) and which covers the recess (8), the ribs (7) extending to the inner wall of the casing. The inlet (14), the outlet (15) and the coolant supply connection (17) are designed for connection of coolant lines (16). USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for core drilling of concrete floors and walls to form openings for waste water pipes (e.g. 100 mm. run-off pipes for domestic baths) or up to 250 mm. diameter vent channels. The drill is robust, almost maintenance-free and absolutely safe to use and has an extremely good power to wt. ratio.
