摘要 PURPOSE:To ensure the restriction on an increase of adverse components contained in exhaust gas while energy consumption in an ignition system is being reduced by suspending the operation of the ignition system when the condition of fuel-cut is still continuing after a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the time of fuel-cut. CONSTITUTION:In a control unit 100, when an engine is restored to a predetermined decelerating condition, a fuel cut-off solenoid valve 22 is charged over to an ON condition form an OFF condition for discontinuing fuel feed to the engine so as to start cutting fuel off. From this point of time, a switch 30 is kept in an ON condition continuously for a predetermined period of time. After the predetermined period of time has elapsed the fuel cut-off solenoid valve 22 is changed over to an OFF condition from the ON condition for keeping the switch 30 in the OFF condition until fuel is restored for suspending the operation of ignition plugs 20. As a result, fuel which is fed to combustion chambers 18 while being dissipated in the inner wall of suction passages 12, is ignited for combustion by igniting plugs 20 for a predetermined period of time starting from the time when fuel-cut is started.
