The method involves using a tool (2) with a tool pin (5) and counter bearing (7) together with at least one pressure roller (4). The roller is parallel to the plane of the metal disc (1) and movable from the centre of the disc to the edge area. Support provision is available in the area of the central counter bearing pin which covers the upper side of the workpiece. The locating surface for the metal rounded workpiece is slightly inclined from the centre to the outer area. The counter bearing arrangement is above the outer edge area to be formed.
