Lock cylinder with core having key channel

The locking mechanism has a cylindrical core with a slot accommodating a flat key (11). A first bore extends sideways from this slot and accommodates a first body (3) which may be a ball. This ball may bear against the side of the key. The first ball is in contact with a second ball (7) at an angle to the first and accommodated in a bore at a right-angle to the first bore. There is an opening or slit (4) in the side of the cylinder, lying in the same plane as the bore accommodating the first ball. The opening accommodates a third ball (8) in contact with the second ball. The second ball is spring-loaded against the first and third balls, and when the key is inserted the third ball is forced into a groove or cutout (10) in the wall of the housing.
