Initiation- and steam melt-boring process combined from earlier rock melting developments

This invention combines steam-jet melt-boring and salt melt-boring processes, into an initiation- and steam melt-boring process, adapting advantageous attributes in conjunction with the characteristics of the molten rock. Initiating- or start melt produced at low temp. inside the pressurised, heated melt boring head, first fills the pilot bore, forming a pressure plug, after which the melt jets are brought to full capacity, increasing their throughput, pressure and temperature. The melt is indirectly heated by steam from preheated and vapourised water introduced as hydro-jets into bottle shaped steam melting jets, which are heated by high frequency energy, to blast the bore. The melt is vapourised and the steam further heated by high frequency energy.
