The method uses a withdrawable mould supporting plate (1) equipped with movable elements (2). The mould (6) is set on the mould supporting plate. The movable elements (cams etc.) are extended before, during or after the compacting process. The volume of the quantity of concrete that fills the individual moulding cavities is at the same time equalised. The movable elements remain extended while the stone is compacted. The stone contour is directly or indirectly shaped by the mould supporting plate. After compaction, the elements are retracted. The mould supporting plate is withdrawn sideways or lowered. The stone is set on a board. Vibrators are arranged in or on the mould supporting plate to transmit directly the vibration energy to the mould frame.
