The method automates a series of processes of sterilizing medical instruments by using a microprocessor. The method comprises the steps of determining if the water level of a tank is normal, and generating an alarm sound if not normal; displaying a preset standard sterilization temperature and time, and increasing or decreasing the temperature and time; setting a water supply time, supplying the water for a sterilization chamber, and generating an alarm sound if not finishing the water supply within the set time; setting a heating time, actuating a heater, and also generating an alarm sound if not reaching a sterilization temperature within the set time; managing the sterilization temperature during a set time; discharging air if the sterilization time has elapsed; drying the chamber.
