The wiper has a plastics arm with an articulated joint (12) at one end for connecting to a reciprocating drive head, and a connector (14) at the other end of the wiper blade. It has a recess (34) for a blade pressure spring, situated adjacent to its articulated joint and delimited by a partition in the form of two lateral vanes and a back member. The main lengthwise body of the wiper arm has an inner cavity formed by injecting plastic in combination with a neutral gas. The spring recess partition also has an inner cavity (42) produced by injecting plastic combined with a neutral gas, and linked to the cavity (26) inside the wiper arm. The injection of the neutral gas is made through a lower edge of at least one of the two lateral vanes forming the recess. The wiper arm also has reinforcing ribs and claws for gripping a windscreen washer tube.
