<p>In a sostenuto device, a sostenuto lever (44) is arranged pivotably movably with a damping lever (36) of each striking mechanism in a piano with vertical stringing, it being possible to bring the upper end of the sostenuto lever (44) into contact with the damping lever (36) so that the latter can be prevented from returning to its starting position, in which a damping head (40) is in contact with a piano string (28) at the upper end of the damping lever (36). The lower end of the sostenuto lever (44) can in this case be brought into contact with a sostenuto claw (56) on a sostenuto bar (54) by means of an actuating mechanism so that the damping lever (36) can be prevented from returning to its starting position when the sostenuto device is actuated after a striking mechanism (16) has been actuated by pressing a key (10). <IMAGE></p> |
