The sealing arrangement is for a piston and cylinder assembly for a compressor. It seals the valve cone on valves with pressure equalisation. It comprises an annular seal of elastic material on the rear end of the piston. - The annular seal (5,6) is located in a groove (4) open toward the rear end (2a) of the piston (2). A pressure ring (7) acting on the seal (5,6) projects past the piston end (2a) to be contacted by a spring element (8) mounted on a stop fixed to the piston rod (3).
