<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight, axial dimension, and an inter-wheel distance and decrease the number of parts in a high-capacity compound transmission. SOLUTION: A main shaft 346 is radially supported in a floating manner through a spherical washer 318D and taper surface 346C, 358D by an input shaft 16 and an output shaft 358 supported on a front end wall 214A and a rear end wall 214B of a housing. Plural main countershafts 324 and auxiliary countershafts 362 are coaxially disposed and supported only by the front end wall 214A, the rear end wall 214B and an intermediate wall 214C of the housing. The front end of the auxiliary countershaft 362 is supported by a bearing by inserting the rear end of the main countershaft 324 supported on the intermediate wall 214C. Further, by meshing of the mainshaft gears 50, 52, 54, 56 and the main countershaft gears 38, 42, 44, 46, the mainshaft 346 is supported. Since the intermediate support for the mainshaft 346 is not needed, the intermediate wall 214C can be minimized.</p> |
