PURPOSE: To obtain a hydrocarbon-soluble anionic polymerization initiator which can polymerize monomers to give a polymer improved in hysteresis, tear strength and abrasion resistance by mixing a lithioamine with an organic alkali metal compound. CONSTITUTION: The polymerization initiator containing a mixture comprising a lithioamine (i) represented by formula I, an organic alkali metal compound (ii) and optionally a chelating agent (iii). In the formulas, y is 0 or about 0.5 to about 3; SOL is a hydrocarbon group, an ether group or an amine group; A is a dialkyl-, alkyl-, cycloalkyl- or dicycloalkylamine group represented by formula II or a cyclic amine group represented by formula III (wherein R1 is a 1-12C alkyl, cycloalky or aralkyl; and R2 is a bivalent alkylene, bicycloalkane, substituted alkylene, oxy- or N-alkylaminoalkylene each of which has about 3 to about 16 methylene groups. |
