PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal roll which is post regulatable in a loading state and is regulatable in width for the purpose of a universal roll stand. SOLUTION: This horizontal roll has shafts 3 and 3' for receiving a drive side roll body 1 and a manipulation side roll body 2. At least the manipulation side roll body 2 has a roll barrel 22 together with a lateral axial sleeve 23 and the drive side roll body 1 thereof is surely torque transmittably fixed and born together with the shaft 3. The manipulation side roll body 2 is axially displaceably born. Torque transmission means 4 are installed to the shafts 3 and 3' in line up therewith. The manipulation side roll body 2 is born at a built-in part piece 5 by this shaft sleeve 23 and its shaft is born in built-in part pieces 6 and 6'. Means for regulating the roll barrel width of the stand are installed at the roll bodies 1 and 2.
