METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMPROVING RESIDUAL STRESS IN REACTOR STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: To suppress the radioactive contamination of a pump supplying nozzle with water. CONSTITUTION: A nozzle 3 is connected to a high pressure hose 15 connected with a high pressure pump 14. The nozzle 3 is inserted in reactor water in a pressure vessel 33 filled with reactor water. Pure water is pressurized with a high pressure pump 14 and supplied to the nozzle 3 from outside by way of the high pressure hose 15. The flow of pure water discharged from the nozzle 3 and accompanied by cavity is impinged to the surface of reactor structures contacting reactor water. As the pure water is led to the nozzle 3 after pressurized by the high pressure pump 14, radioactive contamination of the high pressure pump 14 is suppressed. Therefore, the maintenance and inspection of the high pressure pump 14 is easily conducted.
