PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a box by increasing the housing density of an extra length part at the connecting and branching points of an optical cable. CONSTITUTION: Both ends of the box 1 are provided with pull-in entrances 3, 5 for an optical cable 2 for trunk and optical cables 4 for branching. The box 1 is provided with a connector holding part 11 for holding plural 4-fiber MT connectors, etc., for connecting coated four-fiber tapes to each other at its internal center. The front and rear in both side parts of the connector holding part 11 are provided with extra length housing parts 12 formed with housing spaces by partition plates 9 disposed in plural stages in a vertical direction. The extra length parts of the coated optical fibers 21 are wound and are put into housing sheets. These housing sheets are housed in the housing spaces constituting the extra length housing parts 12. |
