PURPOSE: To provide the degree of freedom of design of cars by setting a bank angle at a specified value, mounting a couple weight on a crankshaft at a specified mounting phase, and setting the ratio of amplitude of the couple weight at a specified value by the bank angle. CONSTITUTION: A bank angle is set at approx. 53 deg., approx. 37 deg., approx. 143 deg., and approx. 127 deg., a couple weight is installed on a crankshaft at a mounting phase ofθ0 +πrelative to an X axis, and the ratio of the amplitude of the couple weight is set at (4/5) 10<1/2> mrec for approx. 53 deg. and approx. 127 deg., and (3/5) 10<1/2> mrec for approx. 37 deg. and approx. 143 deg.. When the x-axis is V-type centerline direction,θ0 is phase constant, the bank angle is 45 deg. for approx. 53 deg. and approx. 127 deg., and 90 deg. for approx. 30 deg., and 0 deg. for approx. 143 deg., and mrec = mp +(1-cp )mr . (mp and mr are piston mass and connecting rod mass, respectively, and cp is Lp /L, where L is a distance between the centers of the piston pin and crank pin of a connected rod and Lp is a distance between the piston pin center and connecting rod gravity center). Thus the bank angle can be set freely so as to increase the degree of freedom of design.
