<p>The metal floor construction system, e.g. for walkways and steps used in building operations, consists of a series of transverse slats (5) fixed to horizontal joists (7). The slats can be made from steel strip, bent into a rectangular inverted U-shape, and the edges (4) can be turned inwards. The upper surfaces of the slats can be made with grooves or studs to give them a better grip, and they can be joined, e.g. by welding, to the joists which can be in the form of I-section beams. The slats can also be joined to one another, e.g. by spot welding.</p> |
