CARTRIDGE FOR INK JET PRINTER WITH VENTILATION MEANS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a pressure change possibly brought about to an area between a cartridge and a cap member when the cartridge for an ink jet printer is in a cap state or non cap state. SOLUTION: Vent passages 70 and 72 of a cartridge main body 12 are formed as a plurality of grooves to one face of the cartridge main body 12. Opening sides of the grooves are closed by an adhesive preform which attaches a tab circuit member to the one face. One end of each of the vent passages 70 and 72 is open to the atmosphere at a second face of the cartridge main body 12 underneath part of the tab circuit member which is not adhesively attached to the second face. A second end of each vent passage extends into a region of the first face which is not covered by the adhesive preform and the tab circuit member, so that the vent passages communicate with the region which is sealed when a cap member is brought in contact with the cartridge.
