PURPOSE: To emit a light from a fluorescent discharge tube in high emission efficiency by setting a light emitting device by the combination of a specified whole horizontal length of a piezoelectric transformer and a specified bore diameter of the fluorescent discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION: In a fluorescent discharge tube light emitting device, a piezoelectric transformer 3 is provided on the output side of an inverter circuit to eliminate the influence of the distribution capacity accompanying wiring. When the vibration mode of the piezoelectric transformer isλ-mode, the light emitting device is set by the combination in which the whole horizontal length is less than 58mm, and the bore diameter of a fluorescent discharge tube 7 less than 1.5mm. For ones in which the vibration mode of the piezoelectric transformer 3 is set toλ/2, 3λ/2, the bore diameter of the light emitting discharge tube 7 is set less than 1.5mm, and the emission with the highest emission efficiency can be performed by the combination with the whole horizontal length of the piezoelectric transformer 3 necessary for providing a lighting driving frequency of 60kHz or more. |
