PURPOSE: To obtain the subject lubricant, containing graphite powder having a specified particle diameter in a specified proportion and the balance comprising glass powder and capable of acting on the pipe inner surface of a seamless stainless steel tube and preventing the seizure flaw with a plug without causing the residual lubricant film. CONSTITUTION: This lubricant contains 10-80wt.% graphite powder having <=1mm particle size and the balance comprising glass powder (preferably having <=2mm particle size). Furthermore, glass powder, consisting essentially of, e.g. SiO2 , CaO and NaO and further containing an alkali(ne earth) metallic oxide, a heavy metallic oxide, etc., such as LiO2 , MgO, K2 O, BaO or Fe2⊥3 is cited as the glass powder. |
