PURPOSE: To reduce possibility of replacing air bag installation after accident, and thereby reduce repair cost. CONSTITUTION: An inflator 34 is provided for the air bag installation 18 for a front passenger seat 14, and an occupant detection means 44 is provided for a roof 42. A take-up condition detection switch 52 interlocked with change- over between ALR and ELR is arranged for a seat belt retractor 48, and a buckle switch 59 is provided for the buckle 58 of a seat belt 50. These are connected to an inflator operation control means 40, and the inflator operation control means 40 prohibits the operation of the inflator 34 even with an occupant in the front passenger seat 14 if the occupant is a child in a child restraint system. |
