PURPOSE: To provide a reformed compression means for video sequence, etc. CONSTITUTION: The sameness information such as the sameness in view of time of a corresponding picture element is used in the coding process of data compression. Two context sets i.e., a set 212C of context with the sameness when a picture element is the same one as the picture element with the sameness, and a set 214C of residual context for the residual coding of the picture element when it is not the one with sameness are used. Calculation quantity is reduced by using a bit with the sameness. When it is judged that the bit is equal to the corresponding picture element of a preceding frame by an expansion device when the bit with the sameness is decoded, the decoding of the picture element is no more required. |
