PURPOSE: To stop an induction motor by controlling the gradient of deceleration so that the voltage type of inverter to drive the induction motor may not stop at emergency by overcurrent or overload when decelerating and stopping the induction motor in operation. CONSTITUTION: A controller 20 is composed of an acceleration and deceleration computing element 21, a braking torque setter 23, a torque computing element 24, an addition computing element 25, an adjuster 26, a frequency compensator 27, a set value switching circuit, etc., and when it detects the deceleration stop, a voltage type inverter 2 is stopped with f** obtained by correcting frequency set value f* by the adjusting operation of the deviation of generated torqueτΛfrom braking torque set valueτ*.
