PURPOSE: To provide a new aminocyclopentane derivative having extremely highα-glucosidase inhibiting action and expected to be useful as an anti-HIV agent, etc. CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I (R1 is H and R2 is CH2 OH or vice versa; R3 is an aryl, a 1-10C alkyl, an alkenyl, etc.), e.g. (1S,5R,6S,7S,8R)-6-hydroxymethyl-3-phenylamino-2-oxa-4-azabicyclo[3.3. 0]oct-3- ene-6,7,8-triol. The exemplified substance can be produced by converting the compound (e) into a cyclic isourea according to the scheme of formula II.
