PURPOSE: To efficiently and economically produce a briquette used for consumable electrode for commercial pure metal by using a hopper for the base metal and hoppers for additives which are provided in parallel to sufficiently agitate the base metal and the additivies. CONSTITUTION: A hopper 8 for charging material is connected to the upper end of an inclined chute 4 whose lower end is opened to a pressing die 1. A hopper 8-1 for base metal and hoppers 8-2 to 8-4 for additives are arranged as the hopper 8 for charging material, the base metal and additives are simultaneously charged into the inclined chute 4, and both are naturally agitated in the chute.
