<p>PURPOSE: To provide a controller for a hot water storage type electric water heater which keeps errors from affect computation of energization time as contained in a measured value of a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of cold water supplied significantly. CONSTITUTION: The temperature T1 of cold water supplied into a hot water storage tank is detected by a first temperature sensor 3a. Second to fourth temperature sensors 3b-3d are arranged at a boundary position between individual hot water blocks of the hot water blocks B1-B4 in an area at higher positions than the first temperature sensor 3a. An energization time computing means 7 computes energization time H using a formula of H=(T-T1)×K 1+(T-T2)×K2+(T-T3)×K3+...+(T-Tn)×Kn, wherein K1-Kn are coefficients indicating energization time necessary for raising the temperature of cold water within the first to fourth hot water blocks B1-B4 by 1 deg.C. In this formula, as a measured value T1 of the temperature sensor 3a is used only once, there is no significant effect on the energization time even when errors are contained in the measured value T1 of the temperature sensor 3a.</p> |
