<p>PURPOSE: To provide the IC card reader writer which is adaptive to an IC card having protocols with plural various functions and can greatly be improved in usability. CONSTITUTION: With a command sent from a host device 20 to the reader writer 1, a corresponding protocol is set in advance and when an operation clock supplied from the reader writer 1 to the IC card having plural operation clocks is changed, the host device 20 confirms the operation clock of the IC card judging from initial information sent from the IC card inserted into the reader writer 1 and changes the operation clock when judging that the clock needs to be changed. when the IC card has plural operation modes, a reset signal is sent twice from the reader writer 1 to the IC card at the time of the selection of the operation mode of the IC card by the reader writer 1 and the contents of respective pieces of initial information are compared with each other, so that the reader writer 1 is set to one of the operation mode when the contents are different.</p> |
