PURPOSE: To improve the column of the surface of a strip by moving a wiping unit from a retraction position to an operation preparation position just before a pushing roll comes into contact with a mill roll by an opening and closing actuator with a large output, and making the pushing roll come into contact with the surface of the mill roll by a pushing actuator with a small output. CONSTITUTION: An opening/closing cylinder 10 is oscillated between a retraction position III and an operation preparation position II. Since the operation preparation position II is positioned just before a pushing roll 5 comes into contact with a mill roll R, a damage, etc., on the surface of the mill roll R, which are caused by the collision of a wiping unit A with the mill roll R, do not occur. After that, when operating a pushing cylinder 30, a pin 14 on a pushing frame 1 side is slid in the inside of the slot 21 of a clevis 20, and the wiping unit A is slightly decanted to be moved to an operation position I. As a result, a wiping sheet 8 is allowed to come into contact with the surface of the mill roll R by the pushing roll 5. However, since the output of this pushing cylinder 30 is small and it comes into soft contact with the mill roll R, a flaw does not occur. |
