<p>PURPOSE: To prevent a propagation ductile fracture of an element such as a pile by arranging a crack preventing device which is constructed by a band material capsulated in a resin matrix, increased in unidirectional strength and formed of light, serial non-metallic fibers. CONSTITUTION: A crack preventing device 10 which is constructed by a band material formed of a plurality of rovings 16 having a number of serial, unidirectional, light, highly strong and non-conductive non-metallic inorganic fibers such as glass fibers is wound on an element such as a bare pipe 12 mounted on a rotating mandrel 14. After the crack preventing device 10 is wound in position on the element, a resin 27 is hardened by heating, ultraviolet radiation, catalysis or other proper means to form a fluid non-permeable, anticorrosive, energy-absorbing and light member. In this way, the propagation ductile fracture of the element such as a pipe is prevented.</p> |
