<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistor stabilized against overcurrent and facilitate increase in density of an emitting device by making electron emission uniform over a microtip emitting unit array. SOLUTION: An emitting unit plate for an electric field emission flat panel display device is provided with the arrangement of microtip emitting unit clusters, which include conductive plates 102, and a plurality of emitting units 104 are formed on the surface of the conductive plates 102 or separated from the conductive plates 102 by means of a thin resistant layer. All the emitting units 104 are in the equipotential level as they are connected to the conductive plates 102. Each cluster is positioned in the vicinity of a stripe conductive 100 or separated in the lateral direction from the stripe conductor 100 by means of a resistant material area 106. The stripe conductors 100, which are parallel to each other substantially, are separated from each other by means of two conductive plates 102 and connected to each other by means of a bus area on the outside of an active area of the display.</p> |
