<p>PURPOSE: To shorten a processing time and to prevent an operator from being confused due to misinformation by controlling a voltage detecting means based on the sort of a discriminated power supply. CONSTITUTION: When an operator turns on a power SW 20, a CPU 1 executes initial operation for a port or the like at first, and then turns the whole phases of a carrier motor 7 and an LF motor 8 to an unexcited state, completely turns off the drive of a head, limits the current consumption of the device only to logic, and fetches the value V1 of an A/D converter 12. Then the CPU 1 excites both the A and B phases of the motor 8 and fetches the value V2 of the A/D converter 12 again. The CPU 1 calculates V1-V2=ΔV, compares the calculated valueΔV with separation voltage Vref between a dropper type AC adaptor and a battery, and whenΔV>=Vref , the selection of the dropper type AC adaptor is judged and low battery check is not executed at all thereafter so as not to drive a low battery detection timer. In the case ofΔV<=Vref , low battery check is executed.</p> |
