PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective device to incise and dilate a stenosis in a blood vessel of a patient. SOLUTION: A device which cleans and dilates a stenosis in a vessel of a patient is provided with a probe catheter 14 which has a cone-shaped probe 16 at its distal end. The probe 16 has a distally diminishing tape and a plurality of blades 20, which adjust to probe catheter 14. Preset guide wire 24 and preset guide catheter enables a device to move forward to the stenosis 26 in a blood vessel. Probe part, which has blades 20 incises and cleans the stenosis by making a to-and-fro motion crossing the stenosis. Operating a stiffening device selecitvely accelerates the motion by probe 16, which is set up on the probe catheter closely to the probe.
